Your reserve parachute should be repacked annually to ensure optimal performance. Over time, moisture, sand, and debris can accumulate in the deployment bag, causing compression and abrasion which can damage the fabric. By repacking your reserve yearly, you minimize the extra wear on the material and increase the chances of a fast opening during deployment.
